Look, personally I totally disagree with this socalled netiquette, ‘cause a tag mean “this post is about X” and not “this post is about love for X”, so when I’m talking about Castiel, no matter what I’m saying, I’m allowed to tag it ‘Castiel’. And it’s not because it’s Castiel, it’s just my general opinion about tags. For example I don’t complain when people write a negative opinion towards Dean and tag it with his name, ‘cause they have the right to do so.
Besides, there’s a difference between criticizing and bashing. When you say “I really don’t like this character because of these reasons”, you’re not bashing, you’re criticizing.
Anyway, since you were really nice (thank you for that), I’ll remove the tag from that post.
My problem with Cas is, well, Cas. He’s a very bad character, IMO, basically because he’s horribly hypocritical. Any bad thing he does? He doesn’t admit it and keeps it hidden. Any good thing he does? He’s always there throwing it in your face like, come on be grateful love me you HAVE to because I did this and this and that for you and I’ll spend the rest of my life reminding you all the things I did. And you call it “devotion”? Want to know what’s real devotion? What Dean and Sam feel towards each other. Dean sold his soul for Sam, have you ever heard him say “I sold my soul for you so be grateful”? Even when Sam was addicted to demon blood, have you ever heard Dean say “why do you do this after I sold my soul for you”? And have you ever heard Sam cast almost 200 years of Hell up to Dean? Actually, if they weren’t forced to tell about what they do for each other, they just wouldn’t say anything, because they both know that the other will suffer for that sacrifice. That’s devotion, when you do something only out of love and don’t claim anything in return.
Also, Castiel knew Dean’s biggest weakness (Sam) and has used it against him. I can’t even start to describe how petty of a person you must be to devise such a cruel idea, but one thing is sure: if you can do something like this to a friend, you are incapable of real love.
Dean is a sincere person, if he trusts you he opens up to you and gives you the weapon to hit him right in his heart, ‘cause he thinks you’ll never gonna use it. But Castiel did. So exactly because I’m a Dean!girl at heart I can’t stand Castiel.
